Legacy Award

     Kathy Chamberlain has been involved at Riverview High School in some capacity since 1988, when she began as a Clinic Aide. Over the years, Kathy dedicated her time and efforts as an Administrative Assistant, Riverview Foundation Coordinator, creator of the Vision Quest Mentoring Program, and Treasurer of the Distinguished Alumni Hall Of Fame.

     Kathy helped bring to life countless programs that have left a lasting mark on the school. She was part of the team that brought the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program to Riverview and organized the First Among Equals academic recognition program. Kathy also helped introduce the Renaissance Program which celebrated student achievement with unforgettable events, ranging from teachers performing on trapeze to Harley-Davidson motorcycles roaring through the gym

     Kathy's influence reached far beyond Riverview's campus. She shared her passion for mentoring throughout Sarasota County, including with the Senior Friendship Center, YMCA, Faces of Accomplishment, and her current position as Executive Director of Pathway to Opportunities. Through mentoring, she as helped countless young people find direction and achieve their goals.

     Her community involvement is just as impressive. From serving as PTO President at Wilkinson Elementary, on the board at SCOPE, Sarasota Bay Rotary Club and leadership positions at the Church of the Palms, Kathy has devoted her life to service.

     Above all, Kathy treasures her 54-year marriage to her husband, Fred, their two children, and six grandchildren. Her deep love for family and passion for helping others define her legacy at Riverview and throughout our community.
