Michelle Profant Schweber

Michelle Profant grew up in Sarasota and lived on Siesta Key for more than 18 years.  She attended Riverview High School, graduated in 1986 and was voted “Most School Spirited.”  After high school, she attended Newcomb College of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.  She earned a BA in Art History in 1990.  Michelle came back to Sarasota and immersed herself in the nonprofit world.  She worked with the YMCA, Project Rainbow and G.WIZ Science Center. She became a professional fundraiser earning millions to support causes in the area.  With an itch to see the world, Michelle applied to become a Peace Corps Volunteer overseas.

She was accepted and served as a non-profit consultant in Tirgu Mures, Romania. In two years, she raised over $2M through in-kind funds to help feed and clothe an orphanage of nearly 200 children as well as to build a school in a small village. She earned a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer certification and is a proud RPCV Alumnae.  Michelle returned back to Sarasota, raised funds for G.WIZ Science Center and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. She met her husband Larry Schweber, and they moved to Naples, FL.

She spent 5 years as the Executive Director of the American Heart Association and then relocated to Atlanta when her husband was transferred.  She landed a lead fundraising position at the Woodruff Arts Center, bringing arts programming to students to the schools throughout the state of GA.

Currently, Michelle Profant Schweber is the Chief Development Officer of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.  She leads a team of dynamic development professionals and manages a strong portfolio of corporate partners and donors that contribute over $2.6M annually, supporting Girl Scout’s mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Michelle has been with Girl Scouts for five years and most recently, her team raised a record-breaking $1 million over breakfast to support programming for more than 42,000 girls and 16,000 volunteers . . .  and will help make Girl Scouts a reality for more than 6,000 at-risk girls.

Michelle lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband Larry, and has a 13 year old daughter named Lily.  Michelle plans to come back to Florida after her daughter finishes High School.
